Equityville Launches Non-Smoking Gun Initiative, Kicks Off a New Age of “Peaceful Force” in Law Enforcement

Equityville, USA — In a profound leap toward progressive policing, the City of Equityville proudly unveils its innovative Non-Smoking Gun Initiative. This visionary program ushers in a new age of law enforcement, equipping the city’s finest with cutting-edge firearms that seamlessly transform into tranquilizer guns, prioritizing peaceful, non-lethal solutions in the pursuit of public safety.

Under the distinguished leadership of Chief of Police Christian Smith, Equityville declares its unwavering commitment to justice for all. According to Chief Smith, “We firmly believe in serving and protecting every human being. Our sworn duty as officers of the law extends to those individuals of the African American community as well. While we acknowledge unfortunate instances where our standards may have fallen short, the judicial system has consistently administered swift, fair and severe consequences. The Non-Smoking Gun Initiative empowers our police force to uphold the utmost levels of justice, and safeguard every individual’s right to life—including those individuals of the African American community—in a peaceful, non-lethal manner—unless, of course, we’re confronted with an actual threat.”

Renowned firearms engineer Jefferson Wayne stands at the forefront of this transformative era of non-lethal peace. His groundbreaking design for a firearm—named the “Peacefire”—emerged triumphant in a citywide contest, blowing the public away with its never-before-seen concept.

“The conception of a double-barrel semiautomatic pistol was pivotal,” Wayne explains. “Typically, you see double barrels on rifles or shotguns. Those break-action guns have what’s called a selector, which lets you manually choose which barrel fires. But our team took a different route. By combining the versatility of combination guns, traditionally used for hunting diverse game, with an automatic barrel selector, we opened up a whole new range of possibilities.”

In the design process, Wayne recounts his meticulous attention to functionality and user experience, with the greatest challenge being to make sure the firearm remained concealable and lightweight. To create a dual-firing pathway within a compact frame, his team drew inspiration from classic sources. The industrial double-barrel semiautomatic pistol, Arsenal Firearms AF2011-A1 (based on John Browning’s iconic Colt M1911), served as a starting point. He also credits the GLOCK 43.2 for guiding him toward this trailblazing achievement. But the transformative capabilities of the Peacefire go far beyond conventional designs.

“What truly sets the Peacefire apart is its unprecedented ability to fire both ammunition and tranquilizer darts,” he says. “But there’s more. Integrated facial recognition technology within the sight and embedded biometric algorithms enable the firearm to instantly identify the intended target’s racial identity. Within a mere 200 milliseconds, if an individual of African American descent is identified, the Peacefire automatically switches to tranquilizer mode, deploying a dart instead of a bullet.”

Esteemed psychology professor Patrice Hill praised the Non-Smoking Gun Initiative, hailing the program as a “double-barrel blast in the direction of progress.”

“The tranquilizer approach effectively mitigates the problem of fear,” Hill says. “Police officers are human beings and, in the heat of the moment, like all humans driven by self-preservation, they respond instinctively. Unfortunately, deeply ingrained societal conditioning further heightens these survival instincts when encountering people of color, particularly Black men.”

By equipping law enforcement officers with Peacefires, the Non-Smoking Gun Initiative represents a new model for de-escalation. The City of Equityville champions trust-building and community relationships that promote well-being through peaceful, non-lethal solutions.
